About Ben Collinson

I am a hardworking and punctual young man who has been working as a 5-axis machinist producing high quality components from carbon fibre, for the medical x-ray industry. I have completed a Level 3 triple diploma in manufacturing engineering where I produced high quality work and was able to complete the course with a triple distinction star. During my time at college and at my workplace (Multi-Ply Components Limited) I have gained a variety of skills including 3 and 5 axis CNC machining and 3-axis programming, CAD design, prototyping with the use of 3D printers, manual machining, and welding. I am also able to read and produce engineering drawings and have knowledge of GD & T. I use a FARO inspection arm as well as other inspection equipment such as vertical height gauges and vernier callipers to inspect my work to make sure it meets the customers specification. I have worked with a variety of CAD software’s including Fusion360, AutoCAD, Inventor and Alibre Design. I always look to develop my knowledge and to improve processes at work. I can follow standard procedures and I am always conducting work safely whilst using the correct PPE and equipment.
