About Ben Derrick

Most recently, I founded Hangar Cognitive Solutions, a cognitive coaching company. A Madison native and a graduate of Mississippi College, I have 20 years of service in the non-profit sector. My work has allowed him to sit with hundreds of individuals and couples, hearing their struggles, and helping them integrate their beliefs with their life strategy. I think of myself as a caring guide and creative communicator. I believe these two characteristics are what help others move from confusion to clarity. I received my Masters of Divinity from Baylor University in 2004. I also obtained my Masters Diploma in Biblical Counseling from the American Association of Christian Counselors (AACC). Additionally, I am a certified as a Pastoral Sex Addiction Professional through the International Institute of Trauma Professionals (IITAP). Over the past decade, I have refined my desire to sit with individuals in order to help them move from shame to purpose. I believe every person deserves a place to process their shame and discover their purpose. My areas of practice include: anxiety, depression, personal development, sexual issues, addictions, stress, and relational conflict. When I'm not working, I can be found woodworking, taking the deep dive into Spotify, and writing. The most visible signs of God’s grace over my life are my wife, Cammie, and my two sons, Owen and Shepard.
