About Ben Freer
Originally from Manchester, England, Ben grew up in San Diego, CA. After getting his BA in Film, TV & Radio Production from Cal State Monterey in 2004, he returned to England to earn his engineering certificate in 2006 from The School of Sound Recording. After spending 12 years at Eleven Studios, Ben opened his own studio named Fiddle Leaf Sound. He has worked on major advertising campaigns and has mixed spots for many clients including Toyota, GMC, T-Mobile, Nike, Jordan Brand and H&R Block. Ben has also focused his talents on documentaries such as, The Real Rocky for ESPN’s 30 For 30 Series and has received a 2020 Emmy Award nomination in the category of Outstanding Sound Editing for a Nonfiction or Reality Program for his work on the HBO docuseries McMillion$. Fiddle Leaf Sound is an independent studio that offers Sound Design, Mix, Remote Record Services (Source Connect), Music Supervision and Original Composition.
