About Ben Gonia

With over 15 years in the service and operations industry, I am well rounded when it comes to values and expectations for clients, business partners, and major corporations. I am currently managing a large-scale operations group at Ameriprise Financial since February, 2021 with many different business lines reporting to me. I like to look at every role that I am in with open eyes for the possibilities for positive change. Whether it be day-to-day changes, technological enhancements, or large-scale projects, I am not afraid to step up to unique challenges and find solutions to improve business lines. In my previous role at Sleep Number, I learned the importance of balancing customer service with sales to create the ultimate experience for our clients. Throughout my time at the company, I received multiple sales awards and was top selling agent on multiple occasions. I used that experience to bring a unique perspective to my new role at Ameriprise Financial. On the service side of Ameriprise, I handled many different advisor and client related questions that were not always easy to answer. I used my "think outside the box" attitude to come up with resolutions for difficult situations. Upon being promoted to the operations side of the business, I found a unique challenge of systems that could use performance upgrades. I used my spare time to come up with many different solutions and worked through our "Lean Methodology." This ambition helped me land my current position as Team Leader. Since receiving the management position, I have made positive changes on the team to bring the group together, find solutions for existing issues, and continue to improve the business for our clients and advisors. I have been frequently recognized by my peers for my "can-do" attitude and ability to find solutions to complex problems. I am a member of multiple organizations within the company including our ESAT (employee satisfaction) technology group (3 year member). I am also a member of the Young Professionals Network within the company. I like to find time to volunteer when I have the opportunity. I have volunteered multiple years at the Junior Achievement program, teaching adolescents the importance of planning for a financial future. I am also a volunteer for Open Arms food delivery and Habitat for Humanity. Lastly, I am a mentor for a veteran through the American Corporate Partners program.
