About Ben Gordon

Hi there! I am in the process of earning my Master's degree in astrophysics at Tufts University, deeply immersed in exoplanet research. While my astronomical interests are rather broad, I am keen to continue studying planet and moon formation processes, as well as better understanding the protoplanetary discs in which they form. I’m also fascinated by unique exoplanets that challenge existing demographics and aim to uncover observational biases I am never truly satisfied until I know exactly how a process works. My interest in data science and astrostatistics has led me to explore machine learning techniques such as probabilistic programming, and Bayesian inference in my coursework. I also have 2 years of computational high-energy particle physics research, which have given me a unique perspective on how to approach complex problems. I also have a passion for teaching, and through 2 years of teaching experience have become exceptionally good at communicating science concepts to a less technical audience. Currently, I am applying to PhD programs to delve deeper into planetary and stellar astrophysics. I’m excited to connect with potential collaborators and those interested in my work!
