About Ben Grace

I am passionate about science, blended e-learning and critical thinking and have been teaching at high school level for ten years. I studied neuroscience at The University of Otago before embarking on a career as a teacher. I am dedicated to creating authentic learning experiences that inspire students to be inquisitive and understand more about the world around them. My previous teaching role at Green Bay High School in New Zealand allowed me to gain extensive experience with Google Apps for Education and Education Perfect. I am now confident with designing and implementing a comprehensive and interactive e-learning curriculum as well as problem-solving basic coding issues. Online platforms allow educators to better utilise their time to support individuals and their learning needs. They enable educators to scaffold tasks to suit all learners and provide individualised learning pathways through a curriculum. A good e-learning platform promotes self-directed learning and encourages students to take ownership of their education. My partner and I relocated to the UK after travelling through South America in 2018 and I have been working as a Science Teacher in London since January 2019. I enjoy teaching in the classroom however, my passion lies in developing students’ 21st century learning skills and knowledge that is transferable to any career beyond high school. I have seen first-hand the benefit of training teachers to use technology in effective ways and believe that integrating evidence-based e-learning modules to any curriculum will improve engagement, retention and measurable educational outcomes.
