About Ben Groth

I am a technically proficient and dedicated planning and environmental management professional with an extensive career in both client-based and regulatory environments. With demonstrated expertise across the full spectrum of planning / environment disciplines for major infrastructure and utilities projects, my experience is primarily focused on the transport sector. In that context, I have delivered over 500 Environmental Impact Assessments, and managed associated construction environmental management requirements, for projects of wide-ranging scale and complexity. In addition to bringing a comprehensive understanding of state and federal regulatory requirements (and associated approval processes), my key strengths include- an ability to develop and maintain collaborative working relationships in a dynamic project delivery environment - ability to drive strategic change and innovation, with particular emphasis on streamlining planning approval processes and construction environmental management practices - a team-based approach to project management, including an ability to promote and maintain a strong ‘people-focused’ culture. Significant projects over the past decade have included the Central-West Orana Renewable Energy Zone Transmission Project EIS, Gasworks Bridge Remediation REF, Rail Clearways Program, Northern Sydney Freight Corridor Program (NSFC), Digital Train Radio System Program (DTRS), South West Rail Link, Transport Access Program (TAP), New Intercity Fleet Program, More Trains More Services Program, Regional Rail Replacement Program, Power Supply Upgrade (PSU) and the Redfern Station Upgrade.
