About Ben Hamik

I am a Master of Public Policy candidate at California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, enrolled in a 4+1 blended Public Policy program. My academic focus includes American and Global Politics, Business Strategy and Development, Legal Philosophy, Civil Rights, and Constitutional Law. My professional experience spans government, political campaigns, and election administration. I served as an Executive Intern in the Office of Governor Jared Polis, contributing to Colorado’s post-pandemic economic recovery efforts. I have also volunteered on State Assembly, Gubernatorial, and Federal political campaigns, gaining valuable experience in constituent communication, organization, and mobilization. Additionally, I have worked for both the City and County of Denver (CO) and the County of San Luis Obispo (CA) as an Election Judge/Inspector, where I led teams of poll workers and worked to optimize election processes. Beyond government roles, I have been a Group Coordinator at Colorado Academy Summer Programs and a Staff Member for the Model United Nations Development Organization (MUNDO), further developing my leadership, logistics, and global affairs skills. I am passionate about International Relations, Business, Law, and National Security, with a strong interest in risk management, strategic development, and effective communication within government and business sectors. I aim to pursue a career that fosters skill-based growth and meaningful impact. Outside my academic and professional pursuits, I enjoy skiing, managing an NCAA Division I baseball team, and traveling internationally to explore diverse cultures and perspectives.
