About Ben Hogarth

I am a Civil and Environmental Engineer with approximately 20 years’ experience in local and international construction industries. I am currently employed as Project Director for Enviropacific in South Australia. As an executive-level leader since 2017 in both the public and private sectors, I have experience in leading complex, multi-disciplinary infrastructure projects and management of large teams. I have developed and implemented business plans and strategies to achieve predefined business goals and targets. I have been responsible for the Government of South Australia’s social infrastructure construction portfolio consisting of in excess of 150 individual projects valued up to $5bn and provided leadership to a team of 75 professionals through the delivery of those programs and projects. I have advanced safety leadership expertise and am committed to safe and sustainable project delivery. I have a deep understanding of the Occupational Health and Safety Legislation as it relates to project delivery and appreciate the importance of safety from safety in design through delivery and into the management of an asset. As a leader, I set the benchmark for performance and firmly believe that treating others how I would like to be treated is the best way to maximise productivity and efficiency. I lead by example and hold others accountable in a highly communicative environment where everybody has the right to be heard. I have negotiated successful outcomes on significant health projects both pre and post contract as both a client and a contractor. The key to a successful negotiation is prior preparation ensuring that the negotiation team is fully aware of what success looks like and where compromise can be made. I have successfully mentored team members through their career progression including coaching graduates through the early years of their careers and promoting senior team members into team leadership roles.
