About Ben Hom

I am a Managing Partner of St. Cloud Capital, LLC (together with its affiliates, “St. Cloud”). Founded in 2001, St. Cloud is a Los Angeles-based investment firm that provides private debt and equity growth capital to U.S. lower middle market companies (companies with $10 -$150 million of revenue) that fall “below the radar” of larger private equity firms and Wall Street. I enjoy investing in and guiding companies that are at an inflection point for growth. We are often the first institutional (non-bank or friends and family) investor of our portfolio companies. St. Cloud has invested over $500 million in over 70 portfolio companies in a wide range of industries from business services, healthcare, and advanced manufacturing to consumer products. We bring our experience, network and best practices to each of our portfolio companies. St. Cloud is a relationship driven firm. We look to partner with people that have a high degree of integrity, humility and ability. We don’t look at any investment as just a transaction or a trade but as the beginning of a long-term relationship. We treat you the way that we would want to be treated. I have advised management teams across these industries as a board member or observer: JibJab, LLC (direct to consumer media service), AR HIIT, LLC (an Orangetheory Fitness franchisee), BigRentz Inc.(tech-enabled rental marketplace), AleraCare Holdings, LLC (healthcare services), Tuff Shed, Inc.(manufacturing), AdvancedOne Legal, LLC (business services) and Transom Bravo Holdings, LLC (consumer products). I represent our industry as a leader on the Western Region Committee for the Small Business Investor Alliance (SBIA) which represents SBIC funds and other lower middle market private equity and private credit funds. I am also a member of the Young Presidents’ Organization (YPO), Beverly Hills Chapter. I have also been a recurring guest lecturer at the UCLA Anderson School of Management and the Pepperdine University Graziadio Business School. I married my college sweetheart who I met while attending UCLA and am the proud father of our three sons. I enjoy all things outdoors, international travel, going to bookstores, playing soccer and coaching my sons’ soccer teams. I grew up in the Bay Area and will always be a Niners and Warriors fan. I start every day by opening my front door and picking up my favorite newspaper, The Wall Street Journal.
