About Ben Kass
I am a Special Programs and Standardized Patient Coordinator at the Simulation and Integrative Learning Institute (SAIL) at UIC's College of Medicine. My recent work has included joint research and quality improvement projects with the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). From 2017-2019, I served as a research specialist at Edward Hines, Jr. VA Hospital with a focus on provider-patient communication and access to care. Prior to joining SAIL full-time, I worked as a standardized patient and skills instructor at multiple medical schools. In May of 2021, I completed my master's degree in Health Informatics at UIC. In my free time, I enjoy biking, hiking, travel, baseball, live music, and cooking. Recipes upon request.
