About Ben Kinney

I am an international energy law and projects attorney. Over the past ten years, I have primarily worked on petroleum laws, regulations, contracts, and transactions in more than a dozen foreign countries. My law practice provides services for foreign governments and private clients. I also work with mineral owners that have mineral properties in Wyoming and Colorado. My primary work focus is on energy project development, including petroleum exploration and production, renewable energy development and power transmission. I have a broad range of experience in energy projects including independent power projects, wind energy projects, transmission line development and others. I have a unique background that allows me to support clients with all aspects of transaction analysis, including legal and contractual framework support, due diligence and risk assessment, and contract drafting and negotiation support. I am a native of Torrington, Wyoming, and attended the University of Wyoming, where I earned bachelor’s degrees in Political Science and Russian. After a few years of working in Washington, D.C, I returned to the University of Wyoming to attend law school and earned my JD.
