About Ben Klinkenberg

I am currently a research student at Oxford Brookes University. My research is based on the social effects of the wild boar (Sus scrofa) reintroduction in the Forest of Dean. This has involved engaging the public and stakeholders for interview about the wild boar and the Forest of Dean, questionnaire creation and promotion, as well as media analysis. Data are analysed using a number of qualitative and quantitative methods and software. This project was created by myself and is funded through a scholarship awarded from Oxford Brookes University. I have recently presented preliminary findings at the first Pathways Conference Europe and the 22nd International Wild Boar and Other Suids Symposium. I hold a BSc zoology and MSc wildlife management and conservation from University of Reading. I also have experience, training and qualifications in project management, report writing, administration, customer service, negotiation, and training/education. I am currently a Scout Leader in Gloucester, Assist County Commissioner for International for Gloucestershire County Scouts, and a regional Scouts of the World Award trainer and mentor.
