About Ben Kruse

With more than 25 years of corporate leadership experience spanning Fortune 50 and Fortune organizations, I've become adept at translating complex sustainability priorities across industries and helping companies advance engagement and buy-in across internal departments. Over the last decade, I've worked to navigate sustainability risk management and reporting challenges – including comprehensive governance and oversight, ESG material issues identification and assessment, climate risk analysis, as well as ever-evolving global voluntary and regulatory disclosure pressures. I strongly believe the ESG reporting process is more than a compliance exercise, with the power to drive cross-departmental accountability, goal setting and progress. Prior to joining the sustainability consultancy BWD Strategic (bwdstrategic.com), I served as Global Head of ESG & Sustainability for Elanco Animal Health – establishing their first dedicated, enterprise-wide sustainability department and helping advance ESG & sustainability governance, transparency and multiple environmental and social goals. In my current role, I assist Chief Sustainability Officers and other executives from many companies and industries in their quest to successfully navigate sustainability priorities and pressures from both inside and outside their business.
