Facilitate complete AM design cycle for customer proof of concept work involving printing, repairing, or feature addition to real world parts from various industries. This entails DfAM CAD modelling techniques, toolpath design and optimization, material specific process parameter optimization, machine operation and alignment, and metallurgical and microscopic analysis of test coupons- Part qualification and experimentation for validating new products and designs from the company’s product roadmap- Research and development into printing new and unique materials, including functionally graded materials, highly reflective materials, and refractory elementals- Customer support and machine maintenance as well as advanced training on Direct Energy Deposition (DED) systems- Provide technical solutions and evaluations for customers looking to improve processes and components through hybrid (additive/subtractive) manufacturing and engineering discipline- Generate Design of Experiment (DoE) for DED process optimization and metallurgical evaluation of as-printed materials and components- Improve upon software and hardware components necessary for full cycle evaluation of Optomec machine equipment from CAD/CAM toolpath generation to improved fixturing and deposition methods for unique or complex components- Provide customer safety training and metallic powder handling/storage/best practices.
