About Ben McIlquham

I am an economic development professional specializing in health and life sciences for Kingston Economic Development, with 18 years of experience across government, industry, and non-profits. I have a strong track record in driving growth and attracting foreign direct investment to support health and life sciences companies. Born and raised in Kingston and a graduate of the University of Western Ontario, I excel at leading complex, multi-disciplinary projects and initiatives. My focus is on making Kingston the ideal environment for life sciences companies to establish, grow, and thrive. I build relationships and support companies looking to expand into new markets, facilitating their soft landing into Kingston. I bring extensive experience in contract management, having led numerous projects for hospitals and managed diverse contract portfolios in the healthcare sector. Before joining Kingston Economic Development, I held roles at Shared Support Services Southeastern Ontario (3SO) and the Ministry of Government and Consumer Services, where I advanced healthcare and strategic sourcing initiatives through project management.
