About Ben Mears

Some people say that I’m a double-horned unicorn. One horn is very much the creative one, it tends to dress up a bit more, and it is certainly more colourful; it made me want to be a cartoonist at the age of seven, it taught me to paint, and it took me to the voguish catwalks of Paris. The other horn is the more logical, legitimizing, inquisitive one; it's the one that makes me want to take apart a bike before I ride it, the one that thinks about oncoming headlights in the distance, and the one that grounds my business commerciality. It’s also part that insists I must state a two-horned Unicorn is technically a ‘bicorn.’ From a young age, I was told that linear and nonlinear thinking could not coexist on the same path in school (or in business, for that matter). However, my mother's creative spirit and dad's engineering expertise kept me from being restricted by strict curriculums or dogmatic structures, allowing me to combine my unlimited creativity and commercial savvy in every job I've had with excellent results. Through my bi-horned work, I’ve launched brands, scaled creative and technical apparel businesses, united artistic and commercial strategies, led and motivated international teams, generated consistent bottom-line growth, pioneered innovation fearlessly, pushed sustainability objectives, and produced world-leading products and campaigns with an unwavering design focus. I want to contribute to positive change, pursue difficult objectives, to disrupt the status quo. We can achieve anything we desire through collaboration and innovation.
