About Ben Obrien
I'm a gardener, landscape designer and the owner of Wild by Design. I make artfully crafted, richly planted, lovingly tended naturalistic gardens inspired by the landscape of Prince Edward County, where I live and work. While studying landscape architecture at the University of Guelph I became fascinated with plants and how they could be used to create aesthetically immersive and ecologically rich landscapes. I returned home to Prince Edward County in 2014 to start my own design practice based on this newfound love of plants and planting design. With a growing portfolio of private and public gardens, recent research projects, and travels to conferences and symposia in North America and Europe, I'm continuing to learn, work, and grow.
