After college, I jumped into P&C insurance during the day - and found myself delivering pizzas at night to make ends meet. Making it in insurance wasn't easy! Since then, I’ve had quite an adventure in what might appear to be a boring industry; insurance. It started with my Dad’s agency called Page Insurance, which was essentially a scratch agency with enough revenue to barely pay the rent and utilities. He’d just left a big captive company - and it was go-time. After a year of in-the-trenches sales, I’d discovered a big underserved demographic. I sought out an investor/partner and left to start and grow a scratch agency on the other side of the state (Idaho). Everyone I knew in the industry said my plan wouldn’t work - but it worked great! We quickly grew to be one of the largest of its kind (and still is). Within a year of opening, I also started other retail service companies in tax, mortgage, real estate, and financial services to serve the same client base all under one roof - they are all still very successful. Around 2010, I took on the challenge of re-starting (and then expanding) Page’s SMB division. By then, I understood well that the best sales results come from focusing on delivering an incredible experience to targeted shoppers and existing clients - not just good policies at good prices. Some of the in-the-trenches activities I enjoyed most include: creating and implementing niche-marketing campaigns, oversight and training on the entire sales process for each niche, and continually improving all aspects of these client-focused journeys for greater results. While continuing to help grow and manage these businesses, I've had the pleasure of being involved in the development and implementation of tech tools - primarily sales management tools (although I’ve been involved with either development or selection/implementation of about every tech-tool imaginable inside of an indie agency). The biggest project I took on was essentially the product/project management of a sales management tool called Maps/Amped. Recently, I wrote an Amazon bestseller called,"How Any Agent Can Escape the Price Battlefield."
