About Ben Phillips
My name is Ben, and I'm studying physics and computer engineering at the University of Kansas as an undergrad. I work on programming and math projects in my free time, and I have developed a considerable portfolio and skill set since I began coding regularly in 2014. I am particularly passionate about my projects in physics simulation, computer graphics, hardware design, and astrophysics. Aside from this I also study film, play multiple instruments, and arrange sheet music. During my degree I have worked in a quantum computing group where I developed a quantum circuit emulator for Cerebras' AI chip, as well as published and presented a poster on my work at SC24. I also worked in a condensed matter physics lab where I developed software tools and learned EBL with an electron microscope. I aspire towards a career in either animation, embedded systems development, or space exploration research, or perhaps multiple.
