About Ben Powers

As a Licensed Professional Counselor, I use cognitive behavioral therapy to help people improve their mental health. I have experience working with chemical dependency, divorcing families, custody disputes, and issues of gender and sexuality. I believe that each person deserves treatment tailored to their own experience and needs. In session, I help people change patterns of unhealthy thoughts or behaviors and help examine meaning of life experiences. I am open-minded, analytical, and relaxed while allowing space for challenging clients to improve their lives. I believe in providing financially accessible services and and use a sliding-scale fee structure. I specialize in working with exploring issues related to gender and sexuality, specifically LGB and Transgender clients. In the past I have worked in a chemical dependency center and currently provide dispute resolution services for families going through divorce and custody disputes. As an ADR Professional, I consult with families that are going through the divorce and guide them to mutually agreeable solutions. Provide dispute resolutions services in family court matters during and after the divorce process. I am a Rule 114 Qualified Neutral.
