About Ben Purssey

An Architectural Technician with 30+ years of industry experience and a lifelong connection to the built environment—originally inspired by my father, a practicing architect. I’ve delivered quality outcomes across a wide range of public and private sector projects, including education, commercial, residential, and mixed-use developments. For the past 20+ years, my focus has been on Queensland Government education infrastructure, where I bring a deep understanding of Departmental Design Standards and end-to-end project delivery. As a founding member of COBiE Group Architects, I’ve played a key role in shaping the firm’s strategic direction and technical capability—contributing to more than 400 education projects across the state. I specialise in technical delivery, site coordination, and documentation management, with experience across master planning, traditional procurement, and design & construct models. My approach combines precision, systems thinking, and a strong ability to lead consultant teams through complex, deadline-driven environments. Highly proficient in Revit and Navisworks, I also bring expertise in BIM strategy, QA systems, and compliance auditing. I’m known for my collaborative mindset, attention to detail, and ability to work both independently and within multidisciplinary teams. Above all, I’m passionate about creating functional, enduring spaces that meet user needs, align with policy, and add long-term value to communities.
