About Ben Richardson

I am a skilled music therapist working in London with children and adolescents with SEMH needs. In my clinical work, I specialise in highlighting and resolving efficiencies and logistical and operational improvements to improve healthcare outcomes for my clients. I also believe firmly in quantitative data to support therapeutic intervention and love to find opportunities for analysis in my work. Recently, I've been trying to integrate AI into my clinical work! I'm delighted to say that ChatGPT cannot make a good music therapy timetable or session-structure to save it's life, so for now my career seems future-proof. I passed my MA in Music Therapy with distinction, have completed my APT Level 2 Supervisor's training, and hold a First Class degree in Music from Newcastle University. I am very proud of these achievements and I feel it's a statement to my work ethic and analytical skills. I pride myself on my flexibility with instruments - as a first study jazz pianist I find improvisation a very comfortable and enjoyable experience. Recently, I have found myself getting better and better at guitar, which I have been really pleased to see! I have a history of performing on stage, by myself and with others. These experiences have left me cool under pressure and able to manage my time accurately, as well as working with others to ensure that everything gets done in the time it needs to.
