Anterior knee pain can be challenging to treat for all Health Care Practitioners. Orthopaedic Surgeons, Sport Medicine Physicians, Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Physicians, Physios and Orthotists all have a difficult time recommending treatment options for anterior knee pain patients. Patellofemoral OA and/or multi-compartment typically have not had a consistent non-surgical treatment. The Spring Loaded brace combines the three proven therapies that can help knee OA (but are difficult for patients to achieve) Weight loss- The Spring Loaded knee brace can reduce knee joint load to a level achieved by losing 45 lbs of body weight Exercise- 97.5% of patients report improved lower-extremity function. Strengthening- We reduce joint load, which leads to patients being able to do more, which leads to them utilizing the muscles around their knee and not overcompensating. Typically we have found patients particularly Veterans and First Responders have a quick positive response from the brace as it helps them go down stairs, squat, raise from a sitting position and get back to activities such as hiking or pickleball.
