About Ben Shallis

Passionate about continuous improvement, I seek to improve the systems, processes and technologies used to manage the most precious resource in the country - water. I love working with the dedicated and talented people at WaterNSW. I seek to develop others whilst leading by example with a positive, solution focused mindset. I believe in open communication, teamwork and smart systems that allow people to work as effectively as possible. Good knowledge management means learning from the past, which allows us to make the most efficient decisions in the future to supply quality water to our customers, when and where it matters. WaterNSW operates the state’s dams, capturing and storing water, and then supplying it ready for distribution – for the environment, agriculture, industry and the community. With 41 major dams and hundreds of waterways across the state, we play a vital role at the source of the state’s water, delivering two thirds of all water used in NSW. We’re the people taking care of the state’s water at the source – capturing, storing, delivering.
