About Ben Sherk

I have a broad knowledge of the Canadian agriculture crop input business including fertilizer (macro/micro), crop protection and seed. My area of specialty is plant and soil Nutrition, with the incorporation of analytics and bio-stimulants to aid in nutrient use efficiency I have held and experienced various roles in purchasing seed, chemical and fertilizer; logistics, canola breeding, supplier and customer relationship management, portfolio analysis and procurement management. Currently I am a Regional Account Manager for ATP Nutrition in Southern Manitoba, specializing in plant nutrition I have a passion for the Agriculture industry and a drive to hurdle over the challenges of a weather dependent, consumer misinformed and time crunched business. I enjoy working in an autonomous work environment where my manager says you need to get from A to B, but It doesn’t matter how you get there; but I appreciate input from superiors whenever I need help. I also appreciate a organization/manager that strives to develop an individuals career, not just maintain where it is currently. I am slow to heated conversations. I am easy going, but do like to follow rules to a “T.” Give me a rod and reel at least once a week, and I can’t say I’ve ever complained about a bad fishing day. Fishing is one of my non-work related passions. I strive to develop my career in agriculture, where might that be in the future? Unsure, but excited to find out.
