About Ben Walker

23 years ago I found my purpose – to help tame the commercial chaos in construction. I founded CEMAR (now Thinkproject Contracts) in 2003 to make life easier for tens of thousands of project professionals. CEMAR is trusted on £100 billion of strategic contracts across every sector.Starting as a young civil engineer, I working on major projects and a service contract under NEC2/3.In 2008 I became an NEC tutor with Thomas Telford Limited. I’ve delivered hundreds of training days and lectures. I was honoured to became a member of the NEC4 drafting team in 2015.I enjoyed a stint as an examiner for the ICE Law and Contract Management Examinations 2012 to 2018.Today, I'm championing the next big thing in construction software. GATHER digitises daily shift records - the poor relation to QHSE, which is done far better.Keeping and utilising robust commercial records promises to address much of the productivity, profitability, mental health and sustainability issues faced by UK construction.Follow me for practical insights on contract and project management.
