Background

About Ben Welden

My best work incorporates the challenge of balancing analytical and technical skill sets. I prefer to invest time getting my hands dirty with an information technology in order to best advise on its use. Through my professional experience, I have learned the value of building mutual understanding with my clients via question negotiation, analogy, and storytelling.I've handled everything from the discovery phase of projects to technical configuration to beta testing and refinement. My projects have ranged from the small-scale, directly affecting only a few users, to company-wide initiatives. My technical experience is mixed, with the bulk of my professional work having been in Microsoft and Google toolsets such as SharePoint, Office, and Dynamics CRM, and Google Apps; through my personal work I have gained experience with GNU/Linux and other open source platforms.I hold a Master's degree in library and information science, focused on information architecture, policy, and ethics. My research interests include privacy and personal information management. I also independently study and practice front-end web development.
