About Ben Whiting

I am an Explorer! As a professional geoscientist (P.Geo.), mining executive and principal owner of Whiting Geological Consulting Inc, I specialize in consulting for mineral exploration and development of precious metals, base metals, and industrial minerals projects worldwide. I have also provided technical advice, teaching, mentoring and services to government agencies and universities. In my career, I have been fortunate to work with and/or lead successful discovery teams. Our current team in The Belcarra Group is well known for the discovery of the La Preciosa silver-gold deposit in Mexico for Orko Silver Corp.(sold to Coeur Mining Inc.), our expansion of the Barsele gold deposit in Sweden for Barsele Minerals Corp.(JV with Agnico Eagle Mines Ltd.), Exploring the historic Dolly Varden mining district in British Columbia for Dolly Varden Silver Corp, plus the Boleras silver discovery in the Sandra mining district and expansion of resources for the Coneto Gold-Silver Project, both joint ventures in Mexico, for Orex Minerals Inc. I have the honour of being chosen as a "Distinguished Science Alumnus" from my alma mater, The University of British Columbia and I am an IAC "Explorer of the Year." In 2019, I was Knighted by the international "Order of St. George" for my past military service and volunteer work. Go Navy. There is more to be Discovered!
