About Ben Winters

When I was younger, I wanted to grow up to play in the NBA. My parents always taught me to shoot for the stars.When I got cut from my hometown basketball team, I was devastated. However, this taught me early on that just wanting something isn’t always enough.At 14, I started my own small business making and selling loom bracelets so I could fund my own basketball court and training program. One year later, I made my Division I high school team.In the end, I didn’t make the NBA. That said, I did gain something much more valuable: the lesson that I can achieve my goals after getting knocked down by taking action to make it happen. Nobody else will give you what you want out of life, so it's on you to hold yourself accountable in the pursuit of whatever it is you are chasing.Build a system that works and, even when it's uncomfortable, do the reps everyday. It's not about doing anything grand today, but about taking that first step and continuously doing the little things that compound over time and shape who you will become.
