About Ben Wright

Graduated from the University of Alberta School of Business with a concentration in Finance and a minor in Business Economics and Law, and currently working towards the CFA designation (CFA Level 2 Candidate). My interests lie primarily within capital markets with a keen interest in corporate debt structure, financial derivatives, modelling, analysis, and M&A.My passion for finance first began through financial management courses in junior high, and grew stronger upon admittance the Alberta School of Business, as I was exposed to the various career opportunities available within the financial industry and their consequential role in domestic and international markets. Through my university career I've maintained an active role in extracurriculars through various executive positions at DU Alberta, volunteer roles with the Business Students Association, the Alberta School of Business Ambassador program, and the Students Union, as well as various charity and volunteer work in the surrounding community. Completing summer internships at Lightstream Resources Ltd and The Co-operators Insurance Group Ltd, I've gained exposure to financial reporting, customer relationship management, debt structuring, and broadened my knowledge of various industries. Beyond academics I've always remained active, playing hockey through my childhood, senior football and rugby during high school, and recently participating in many recreational sports including hockey, golf, football, basketball, volleyball and dodgeball.
