About Benitha Jones

My professional experience includes the following: building positive relationships with students, parents, colleagues, and other stakeholders; working in a self-contained elementary classroom; serving as an elementary reading coach; facilitating professional development; serving on interview panels; serving as an assistant principal; launching professional learning communities; assisting with curriculum mapping; overseeing Response to Intervention; mentoring new teachers, etc. I have accomplished the goal of becoming an adjunct instructor for a university. I possess an interest in becoming a full-time professor in an educational program at a university to share my expertise with pre-service teachers in an effort to help adequately prepare them for teaching and impacting student achievement. Another career interest is to become a school administrator or perhaps a curriculum and/or professional development supervisor for a school district in the future. However, being actively involved in the decision making that positively impacts teaching, learning, and the lives of students and colleagues is the very heartbeat of my desire to be an educator!
