Background

About Benjamin Allaire

Mr. Benjamin Allaire, MS, is the director of RTI’s Advanced Methods Development program. As a trained economist, Mr. Allaire has a proven track record of transforming health data into actionable insights for policymakers through data linkages, visualizations, dashboards, and simulation models. Mr. Allaire is skilled in creating Real-World Data linkages, specifically working states to develop Medicaid administrative data linkages. He served as the data linkages lead for the Child and Caregiver Outcomes Using Linked Data (CCOULD), which joined child welfare data and Medicaid claims in two states. He also currently oversees the integrated Dataset on Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (iDIDD), which links National Core Indicators data, Support Intensity Scales, and Medicaid claims. Mr. Allaire’s simulation models have been used to help predict cost-savings from reducing colorectal cancer over-screening. He currently directs two simulation model projects for the National Center for Chronic Disease Prevention and Health Promotion (NCCDPHP) within the CDC: the Simulation Model of Interventions Linking Evidence to SDOH (SMILES) and the National Breast and Cervical Cancer Early Detection Program (NCCEDP). Additionally, Mr. Allaire leads the National Cancer Institute’s Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results (SEER) cancer registry and the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services'(CMS) Medicare Health Outcomes Survey (MHOS) data project. This project provides critical information about the health-related quality of life (HRQOL) of Medicare Advantage Organization enrollees.
