About Benjamin Apolo

Benjamin Apolo is a Public Information Representative in the Office of Communications at Santa Clara Valley Water District. Benjamin serves as the lead in graphics services team which includes three professional designers and three student interns. Benjamin has been with Valley Water since February 2006, starting as a temporary Public Information Representative I in the Business Support Services (now Business and Customer Support) unit. He was hired as a full-time Public Information Representative I in December 2006 then promoted to Public Information Representative II. During this time, he provided on-demand graphic design services district-wide for various print and web projects. He has developed numerous outreach materials, publications, ads and templates (logos, brochures, newsletters, fact sheets, infographics, display boards, signage, banners, rack cards, book report, digital and social media graphics, public notices and many more). He has mentored more than a dozen student interns who have gone on to successful careers of their own. Through the years, Benjamin has initiated numerous process improvements for his team. Customers throughout the district have been delighted with Benjamin’s work efforts, creativity, and professionalism. Benjamin holds a bachelor's degree in computer science from Centro Escolar University in the Philippines. He strives for continuous professional development by meeting fellow creative artists at Adobe Max events and participating in online classes and webinars. He has won Employee Recognition Awards in three categories: Innovation (2016), Community and Customer Service (2016), and Teamwork (2015).
