About Benjamin Calvo

My background covers electronic diversity building and design, with IT assistance on the side. I have had experience building, soldering electronics together, and helped with electrical projects around the house and at school and learned how things work early on. My university education exposed me to design, and I gained experience on projects using Cad and AutoCad. I also assisted customers and friends in college with IT issues related to computers, iPhones, iPads. I was an Apple Certified Tech for the university bookstore, and have helped lots of friends and family with their tech issues. At one of my past employers, I had a reputation for delivering exceptional service and building strong rapport with clients. I enjoy building computers in my down time. I love to learn and keep up with what is new in technology. I branched out from my drumline roots in high school and college and learned programing of complex show design and became Dante certified. I have worked as an instructor and sound engineer for various high school bands and summer camps, I have experience working as part of a team with my technical skills in audio equipment operation, venue setup, and troubleshooting equipment. These experiences have not only strengthened my problem solving abilities but also instilled in me a keen attention to detail. As part of a team, we have worked together for a common successful goal, in addition to trouble shooting issues in a variety of diverse situations. In addition to my professional experiences, my educational background in Electrical Engineering, coupled with minors in Mathematics and Music Industry (sound engineering), has equipped me with a solid foundation in relevant theoretical concepts and practical skills. I am particularly proud of my certification as a Level 1 through 3 Dante Certified professional, reflecting my commitment to continuous learning and professional development in the field. On the engineering front I am familiar with Multisim, Simulink, AutoCAD, and AutoCAD Electrical, BlueBeam, LabVIEW, Microsoft Office, and various database softwares. I have been a leader on various fronts, from being invited to be part of the Boy Scouts Leadership Order of the Arrow, to instructing and being a role model to the students at the high schools that I was a sound engineer for. I also enjoy community service and am a volunteer with a local Search and Rescue organization.
