Background
About Benjamin Campbell
over the last decade I have been involved with the power generation industry. these experiences include manufacturing, maintenance, and OEM services. the manufacturing experience includes production as well as quoting for T&M. maintenance activities included standard preventative maintenance, as well as machine diagnostics and repair. my current role includes performing OEM inspections, performance tests and outage support. To go into further detail about the skills developed by these experiences I'll start with manufacturing. In this role I was responsible for the production of boiler tubes using point-to-point data, blueprints, and CAD drawings. the designs of these tubes would vary drastically depending on its location inside the boiler. These design changes require a large range of skills including the use of lathes, bending equipment, and various welding processes. Some of this work included dissimilar metal welding. this work was subject to a rigorous NDE program including MT, PT, X-Ray, and phased-array UT. my maintenance experiences included maintaining the equipment critical to the shop's success. this equipment included Fronius welders,#2 pines bender, an automated saw line and various other equipment. these experiences gave me an understanding of electronics,PLCs, and industrial wiring. My crowning achievements in this area were the diagnosis of a HMI as well as the conversion of multiple Fronius welders. my current role is that of a field service engineer. in this role I have performed OEM inspections during turnaround outages. these inspections help our customers track and plan required maintenance to prevent a forced outage. the equipment inspected ranges from small package boilers to large utility boilers. I have also participated in the optimization and combustion tuning of this equipment. this includes setting up emissions monitoring equipment and interpreting the data from this equipment to recommend the best course of action for improvements. In this role I have also solely been responsible for a product line. these responsibilities include T&M quotes as well as material procurement, fabrication and shipping. If you have read this far I want to say thank you for taking time out of your busy schedule to get to know me better. Whether you're a boiler owner looking for parts & services support or you're interested in learning more about the manufacturing world I look forward to a conversation.
