About Benjamin Diffey

I am currently working as a posdoctoral researcher as part of the Translational BIology Group at the University of Manchester. My work has involved the processing and analysis of complex mass cytometry biomarker data to identify population distributions and their inflammatory profiles. Currently I've been involved in investigating this in samples from the ocular surface, as well as isolated leukocytes. I have extensive experience and competence in R programming. I've been responsible for developing pathways for processing and automating analysis of large, complex datasets, as well as producing effective visual outputs for presentation and publication. Previously, I was a part of the Brain Infections Group at the University of Liverpool. My primary project was to validate an ELISpot assay to GCP standard for 1st phase clinical trial of a novel Zika Virus vaccine. I studied for my PhD at Loughborough University as part of the EPSRC centre for doctoral training in Regenerative Medicine. My work focused on improving understanding and control of T cell culture systems with the aim to inform the T cell therapy manufacturing industry, in particular CAR-T therapies.
