Background
About Benjamin Edelstein
I'm an Assistant Professor of Economics in the Quinlan School of Business at Loyola University Chicago. My research focuses on urban, environmental, and public economics, and my job market paper studies how local management of water scarcity affects new housing supply and residential water use. My other research has studied mobility and gentrification, riskiness in mortgage lending, and the impacts of school choice on house prices. Previously, I earned my Ph.D. in Applied Economics from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and my B.A. in Economics and International Relations from the University of Southern California. Before graduate school, I worked as a research associate at the American Enterprise Institute's Housing Center.
