About Benjamin Gazeau

I am a Chemical Engineer (specialties in Polymer Compounding and Materials Science). Working as a casual academic & researcher, building experience with LCA methodology. My experience in the polymer industry started in the automotive industry and then has been focused in wire and cable formulation mainly but can design all sorts of specific polymers to achieve specific properties. I worked with different processes as well (Twin Screw, BUSS kneader, Internal Mixer). Based on International or National standard requirements and Customer needs, I can design plastic formulations, set up process data-sheets, Test list to ensure Quality, and Extrusion advice to customers. I was able to use my network to bring new prospects into the business and develop the relationship to transform them into customers and assisting them into the product development (I was not involved in the pricing negotiation). I worked to improve my techniques in reverse engineering for 4 years, I developed my skills in analytic measurements with laboratory equipment companies as well as University Scientists. I have been involved in process implementation projects – to resolve technical problems – and in maintaining quality and safety management systems. I have also managed the Lean activities, hired people for identified tasks. I would like to highlight the expertise I have gained as a Manager in budget and project management. Another important task I have had to deal with frequently, was assisting customers with the implementation of new products and problem solving. Regarding the implementation of the compounding unit, I have carried out several projects that have allowed me to come in close contact with Quality Management Systems, Lean activities and R&D projects in front-line Automotive, Telecom and other companies. I am an Australian and French citizen. In short, I have several years of practical experience in the industry, including dealing with all the day-to-day activities of a client-focused organization – project management, reporting, customer service, department coordination, training and coaching junior personnel, and more – I believe I can be a valuable asset to a company. On the personal side, I am a highly-motivated person with good team-player skills, looking forward to developing a strong professional career.
