About Benjamin Geldmacher

My work ethic and leadership have shaped my path at Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business. After completing my undergraduate accounting degree, I continued in the 3/2 MBA program to deepen my audit training and complete CPA eligibility. I currently serve as a Graduate Teaching Assistant for Financial Accounting, leading three Friday Discovery sections, coordinating content with the instructor, and holding weekly office hours. These responsibilities keep my fundamentals sharp and improve how I communicate complex topics. Over the past year I completed two audit internships with Grant Thornton. In Bucharest with Grant Thornton Romania, I supported audit teams by organizing and cleaning large client data sets and standardizing steps that shortened turnaround time. In St. Louis, I assisted on quarterly reviews, aligned lead schedules to source statements and supporting documentation, and rebuilt a rollforward to streamline preparation for future periods. Outside the classroom, I have developed as a leader through the Men’s Water Polo Club at IU and by coaching goalkeepers with Jungle Cats Water Polo, experiences that reinforce disciplined planning and clear communication. I look forward to continuing my development in external audit. I bring reliable execution, clean workpapers, and a process mindset that helps teams move faster while maintaining quality.
