Benjamin Gill serves as the Head of Corporate Development at the Northland Group of Companies in Fort McMurray, Alberta, where he oversees strategic growth initiatives for Northland Forest Products and Western Archrib. He played a pivotal role in Western Archrib's acquisition and the subsequent $82 million investment in a new manufacturing plant, positioning the company as a leader in the sustainable mass timber market. Benjamin brings valuable financial expertise as a former corporate banker now focused on enhancing a culture of servant leadership and community building. As Treasurer for the McKay Métis Group, Benjamin contributes to Indigenous-led business development and community reinvestment. He was instrumental in the landmark 2022 acquisition of Roughrider International, a $21 million deal that significantly expanded the Group's self-performed services and workforce while further enhancing economic prosperity for the Fort McKay Métis Nation. Today, he continues to focus on driving growth that ensures sustainable long-term benefits to the community to support employment, housing, training, and infrastructure. Benjamin has also been active in shaping the regional business landscape as a Director on the Fort McMurray Chamber of Commerce Board and through his involvement with the Wood Buffalo Pro-Business Advisory Committee. His advocacy work focuses on creating a supportive environment for local businesses while promoting policies and practices that benefit the Wood Buffalo region as a whole. Born in New Zealand to British parents and raised in Canada, Benjamin combines Alberta's entrepreneurial spirit with a global perspective. Outside of his professional roles, he enjoys reading, movies, traveling, and following football. He volunteers his time to organizations that emphasize the values of compassion, courage, and integrity—principles that guide his approach to both business and community service.
