About Benjamin Hodges

As an Executive Director within the Bank's Compliance Framework and Policy team, I lead a senior team focused on designing and implementing highly effective risk management frameworks and core compliance policies, enabling the Bank's aspiration to drive commerce and prosperity safely and inline with the Group's Conduct outcomes. My aim is to re-engineer and simplify frameworks and policy, embed clear accountabilities and responsibilities, and oversee and monitor risk management effectiveness. I solve complex problems creatively and collaboratively, and drive high impact transformational and sustainable change. My key partners and stakeholders include colleagues across the Compliance, Financial Crime and Conduct Risk function globally, and in Enterprise Risk Management, Operational Risk and first line broadly. Areas under my direct responsibility include managing regulatory change, non-financial regulatory reporting, and electronic communications policy and standards. I started my career in London, moved to Hong Kong and then to Singapore. After initially working in consultancy and media businesses, I decided to work for a Bank. I have held roles in both the first and second line and have a wide range of banking experience coupled with deep subject matter expertise in core non-financial risk management. I have lived in Singapore for over 15 years and consider it home.
