MOTT MACDONALD GROUP Apprentice (19yr)(August 2019 – August 2022) – Highways and Intelligent Transport Systems Division Below is a list of civil engineering projects I was an AutoCAD technician on: Fairview Homes, Good Mayes, London Borough of Redbridge – Vehicle tracking – Obtained a good understanding of how vehicle tracking software works. M42 – Junction 6 Improvement (National Highways) – Gained further knowledge of road markings and a basic understanding of PDS Line software, such as producing line styles. Worked on road signs which increased my knowledge and skill of PDS Signs. On this project helped design sign faces and calculated the visibility as well as placing them in the proper position also able to set up standard details. Gained more knowledge on Chapters 7 and 5 of the highway code and assisted with general CAD work including 2D and 3D. M27 Junctions 4 to 11 – Smart Motorway UK (National Highways) – Assisted in the preparation of information for construction in the form of models and drawings. Guyana – Assisted with basic CAD work and collation of PDF documents. Temporary Traffic Regulation Orders – Built standard drawings and turned them into PDFs. The process included pulling the OS tiles in and Xref into the drawings. Afterwards, used the PDF given with a planned route and traced it out on CAD, then put it in a drawings frame and created a PDF. A46 Newark – While working on this project I help set up the primary and secondary routes with the pre-existing signs. I load the mapping in and followed every route that was possible on the project. While on this project I was able to submit a PDI (positive design intervention ) this is because some of the signage was misleading. We were able to fix this in the preliminary design, which will be fixed in the future.
