About Benjamin Klein

I started working with React at a small/mid size company in 2018 during school. After a while my employer offered me an opportunity in which I could be a part of a second project - developing an Android App. It didn't take me too long to realize that I will work in this sector in the future, because I loved it. As for my knowledge: Deep level of knowledge in Kotlin and Android. I've been working with MVVM architecture for two years now, MVC before that. I've been using Android Architecture Components and Android Jetpack on a daily basis for two years now, such as ViewModels, LiveData and observers, Data Binding, Deeplinks, etc. I've been writing unit tests ever since I use ViewModels. Currently I'm part of a relatively big team, working on a multi-module application, following the principles of Scrum. I'm familiar with Atlassion products as I use them on the regular - Jira, Confluence, BitBucket. I'm also familiar with Microsoft Azure. I have experience with plenty of third-party dependencies, for instance: Hilt and Dagger2, RxJava, Retrofit and OkHttp, Gson, Glide and Picasso, Timber, Lottie. It doesn't take long for me to become familiar with them. I'm interested in learning devops related fields, and love working on foregoing tasks. I have experience with Jenkins, Bamboo, SonarQube, Docker, scripting, etc. I use Linux for my work environment. Manjaro at the moment, before that Arch with i3-gaps (only WM, not a DE). I loved configuring, building my system from scratch, but I had to switch to a more user-friendly environment, because I don't have the time to keep up-to-date, maintain, fix everything instead of programming. I'd say I'm intermediate in Firebase. I monitor from time to time our project's FB Crashlytics and Performance. I used both Realtime Database and Cloud Firestore for their advantages, I can write Cloud Functions in Node.js (e.g. triggers, FCM Push Notifications) and I have experience with Rest APIs. I discontinued my education in college, because I found it unavailing and insignificant in terms of IT. I know I still have a lot to learn, but I'm capable of it.
