About Benjamin Lawson

I'm a former educator and customer service professional interested in various fields as an integrated social and cognitive science whole: social and economic cognition, behavioral economics, political economy, intercultural cooperation and communication, sociocybernetic systems, Bayesian inference, cognitive networks, media psychology, comparative political psychology, public diplomacy, persuasion, and epistemology. I've worn a lot of hats and it's colored both my academic and professional career. Indeed, if there was a meta-passion I have, it's in applying research to practical use and reciporically grounding theory through the same. Some of the issues I'm passionate about are modern diplomacy, education (in particular the development and promotion of critical thinking skills), the promotion of fair trade based markets (as institutions and consumer priorities), the defense and improvement of labor rights and standards, and the defense and expansion of clean water access both in the US and developing nations. By profession, I've been an experienced English language educator, lecturer on the use of multimedia and media psychology in the classroom, manager of groups of various sizes and cultural compositions, qualitative and quantitative analyst, charity event planner/coordinator, multidisciplinary researcher, social media manager, foreign exchange programmer, office communications associate and editor, and a communications campaign developer.
