About Benjamin Lloyd

Exploring professional interests in writing, marketing, communications, curriculum development, and, in a perfect world, craft beer. My educational background is in English literature, in which I hold a Master's Degree, and for which I have developed a number of skills, from an ability to write on essentially any topic to any audience, to database research, to fine-tuned attention to detail for editing any number of documents. My professional background is, excepting a 2-year stint as an editor during my graduate studies, entirely retail-based. Such a long time in retail has given me invaluable business experiences, ranging from day-to-day business operations, to interview techniques, corporate training leadership experience, and employee growth and development. Most of all, it has given me ample opportunity to improve my customer (and people in general) relations skills. My ideal position will be one in which I am involved with a product or service that I truly love, for a small-ish company where I am not so far removed from either those who make the product, and those who consume it (the example of a local craft brewery is a good one). I will do best in a position where I am free to interact with everyone and given plenty of creative control over the specifics of anything I have to write or otherwise present to an audience. I am at my core a creative writer, and will perform my best work in an environment that doesn't take itself too seriously.
