Background
About Benjamin Mathes
After seven years producing big budget Hollywood films, I founded Crash Creative — a video production company that brings a cinematic approach and commitment to quality to videos for private businesses, non-profit organizations, and municipalities across the country. I’ve carefully curated an intimate team of diverse talent to bring our dream of high-impact storytelling to life. Crash Creative helps people and businesses tell compelling stories, expand their reach, and create new business opportunities through video and photography. We create the highest quality video content, starting from a kernel of someone’s dream or idea to the final post-production of a cinematic, Hollywood-level finished video. I am also the founder of Urban Confessional: A Free Listening Movement. Currently in moe than 80 countries, our volunteers stand on street corners with signs that say "Free Listening" and provide compassionate, non-judgmental listening for anyone who needs to talk. Our work has been featured in more 40 national publications including the Huffington Post, The Atlantic, Fast Company, and The Big Think, as well as in over 30 international publications across 15 languages. Prior to launching Crash Creative, I served as Head of Production for Seine Pictures, a film finance and production company in Hollywood, overseeing the creative development and production of nearly 25 million dollars of film. While at Seine Pictures, I executive produced the dark comedy “Murder of a Cat” (starring Greg Kinnear and JK Simmons) and the biopic “Pele,” in partnership with Brian Grazer and Ron Howard’s Imagine Entertainment. I also produced the documentary, Listening is Loving, about the power of listening to people with dementia, which was distributed internationally in 2019.
