About Benjamin Newland

I counsel founders, boards, management teams and investors on capital raising, cross-border transactions, investments and joint ventures. Clients hire me to help them capture value and mitigate risk as they navigate strategic corporate events, drawing on my 25 years of legal and business experience in the US, Europe and the Middle East. I founded Newland Ventures LLC to both advise and invest in startups. Currently I also serve as the board chair for Nightjar Coffee, a coffee beverage retailer and café operator in Dubai, and as executive board chair for Athens Research & Technology, Inc, a US-based biotech company. I also serve as a member of the board of directors for GFH Partners, based in Dubai. Previously I was a partner at the "Global 50" law firm of King & Spalding, where I was resident in both Dubai and New York. While a partner at King & Spalding, I was consistently recognized in Chambers Global and The Legal 500: Europe, Middle East & Africa for my corporate and investment fund formation work.
