About Benjamin Obeghare Izu

As a Researcher, I am passionate about advancing the knowledge and understanding of African music and dance, especially about culture, identity, and history. I have developed, designed, and executed several research projects in this domain, using ethnomusicology research methods and techniques. I hold a PhD in Musicology from the University of South Africa, where I focused on musical traditions and practices. I have also worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of KwaZulu-Natal and a Research Associate at the University of Pretoria, publishing multiple papers in reputable journals and presenting at international conferences. I have strong skills in research, teaching, and higher education, as well as a keen interest in intercultural and interdisciplinary collaboration.
