About Benjamin Okpara

Hi, I’m Ben I work as a climate change and sustainability consultant with EY Dublin. My core expertise is in sustainability assurance, GHG Accounting, sustainability and net zero strategy development, reporting and integration. Prior to joining EY, I worked with PwC Nigeria where I was also a member of the Net Zero Transformation team for PwC West Market Area. I have prior experiences in the academia where I published over 10 scientific articles and was a Publons Accredited peer reviewer for top scientific journals in the field of ecotoxicology and environmental forensics. I am a certified ISO 14001 Environment Management Systems Lead Auditor and a member of the Society of Environmental Toxicology and Chemistry (SETAC). I combine my strong research background as an environmental scientist (with focus on Ecotoxicology), an avowed passion for climate change action, a voracious appetite for learning and my inborn desire for excellence to rethinking and solving problems. I love working in exciting and energetic teams where I bring in all of me to my work to ensure effective and efficient delivery. I am a highly adaptable individual, a good communicator, energetic, creative and love meeting and working with people of diverse backgrounds and interests. I believe that a just, equitable and sustainable world where businesses and peoples can thrive is possible and I'm wholly committed to playing my part. In my spare time, I read biographies, sing with my church choir and play the piano.
